The next chapter

When I first took on the role of Editor of Hudson Valley Living, I had a simple vision: create something people would genuinely look forward to reading. I wanted every issue to feel like a magazine worthy of being picked up, explored and kept on the coffee table a little longer.

Over the past four years, that vision became a reality thanks to an incredible team, supportive advertisers and, most importantly, you, our readers.

Together, we transformed Hudson Valley Living into a publication that celebrates the people, businesses and places that make our towns such a remarkable place to call home. Every month brought a new opportunity to discover a family-owned restaurant, tell the story of a local entrepreneur, highlight an inspiring nonprofit or introduce readers to a hidden gem just around the corner.

One of the greatest privileges of this journey has been earning the trust of so many local business owners. Time and again, I would hear the same words: “Vim, we trust you and your team. You are the experts. Do what you think will work.”

Those conversations meant more to me than they probably realized. They reminded me that great marketing isn’t just about beautiful ads or compelling words. It’s about understanding someone’s passion, telling their story authentically and helping them connect with their community. Being entrusted with that responsibility has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

With this issue, I am beginning a new chapter with Halston Media. I am honored to step into the role of Associate Publisher, a position that expands my responsibilities beyond Hudson Valley Living and allows me to work more closely with our entire family of newspapers, magazines and special sections.

As part of this transition, I’m also pleased to introduce Emile Menasché as the new editor of Hudson Valley Living. Emile brings a thoughtful editorial voice, a deep appreciation for local storytelling and a strong understanding of what makes our communities special. I’m excited for readers and advertisers to get to know him in this role.

While my day-to-day responsibilities are expanding, my connection to Hudson Valley Living is not ending. I will continue writing this note, continue staying connected to our readers and advertisers, and continue championing the people, businesses and stories that make this publication so special.

In my new role, I’ll be working more closely with our sales and marketing teams, developing new ideas, supporting local businesses, and helping ensure that everything we produce continues to serve our communities with the quality they deserve.

I’m grateful for everything Hudson Valley Living has become, and I’m even more excited for what comes next. My title may be changing, but my commitment remains exactly the same: to strengthen our publications and continue delivering the trusted local news, business insights and lifestyle content our readers rely on.
