Yorktown resident Richard Biggs, also known as Ricky Biggs and by the stage name "Kingdr," has been making music for over half a decade. At just 17 years old, Biggs has quite the resume with a desire to further his young music career. The senior at Archbishop Stepinac High School is certainly planning for big things ahead of graduation.

Biggs has released more than 250 songs, including music under the names Teen Melodies, Drippy Ricky, Ricky and Ricky Biggs, as well as unreleased material. His music has received millions of streams across platforms including TikTok, YouTube, Apple Music and Spotify.

In 2025, he performed at St. Rita’s Music Room at the Beacon Bonfire Festival, where he performed more than 20 songs.

Kingdr has a level of persistence that translates effortlessly into his music. His discography is one of a kind, with a variety of musical styles including shoegaze, hip-hop and alternative rock. Some of his biggest musical influences come from the works of the Deftones, Lil Peep, Kurt Cobain and My Bloody Valentine.

Biggs produces his music in a simple home studio. Though Kingdr is a solo performer without a label, he loves collaborating with his friends and other local and global musicians. Because of these efforts, Kingdr’s music has been streamed in more than 150 countries. Additionally, Kingdr has made songs with musicians from Japan and has even performed in parts of Europe, where he plans to return later this year.

Biggs’ passion for music has taken him as far as making his own label known as ‘Sights Collective,’ helping underprivileged artists get their own music released. He promotes aspiring musicians to take the leap of faith.

“You can take examples [of someone], but don’t be the exact same person. You’re called to be yourself; you’re called to be unique … that’s what makes you human,” Biggs said.

This source of community is something Biggs says helps him heal.

Biggs said the Kingdr EP “Punkboy” relates to his personal struggles and how Biggs felt at the time.

“I feel like it was a representation of who I was,” he explained.

Currently, Kingdr plans to improve his sound by expanding his vocal range and “sounding less monotoned.” Kingdr fans can expect his new music to be more upbeat as he looks to step outside his comfort zone.

“I feel like you can definitely hear how depressed I sound in my earlier songs … but now I’m trying to open up because I’m happy now,” Biggs said.

As an artist, Kingdr wants to be a light for others by expressing common themes of helping others through his songs.

“I want to be able to be someone they can relate to,” Biggs said. “When I was personally struggling, I didn’t really have anyone to go to.”

Beyond music, Biggs has created his own holistic fragrance brand, nutrition blog and a mental health hotline – ventures that expand who he is as a person and artist.

“I want to be perceived as a positive influence on the youth and for those who are suffering,” Biggs said. “I just want to help people. I’ve had people message me saying ‘your music really touched me’ and that’s what makes me want to do this.”

Biggs’ journey shows no signs of slowing down. The future looks bright for the quote-unquote “punk” otherwise known as Kingdr.
