Yorktown Grange Fair names 2026 blue ribbon winners

A look at the top entries in poultry, produce, photography and more

Posted

Amongst the most anticipated events in last weekend’s  Yorktown Grange Fair were the Blue Ribbon Contests, a mainstay of the century-old Fair.  Anyone can participate and area residents compete to show off their home grown or homemade goods in various contest categories including produce, flowers, livestock, poultry, needlework, baking, art, photography, woodworking and even Legos.  It’s a celebration of the local agriculture, skills and creativity that make Westchester County so special.

The tradition began when a local farmer, Chester Hyatt, challenged his fellow Grange members to see who could grow the best potatoes.  And the rest is history!  For 102 years, the Yorktown Grange Fair Blue Ribbon Contests continue to showcase a friendly rivalry amongst area residents for the best of the best of show.   As a traditional grand finale, the Fair also closes with a live auction of the contests’ produce, flowers and baked goods.

Without further ado, congratulations to the top ribbon winners for 2026!

Congratulations to everyone who competed in this year’s Blue Ribbon Contests. The judges were so impressed with all the entries and ribbon winners, which made it very difficult to award the top prized blue rosettes.  The Fair is looking forward to welcoming all to next year’s contests.  It’s never too early to start planning your entries for the 2027 Yorktown Grange Fair!
