The three teenagers accused of robbing a TD Bank branch in Jefferson Valley last week appeared before Judge Gary Raniolo in Yorktown Justice Court on Tuesday.
The three Queens residents were brought into the courtroom in shackles, with moments of visible emotion during the proceeding. Because some of the defendants do not speak English, interpreter services were brought in.
Police in Putnam and Westchester counties were alerted Aug. 6 after three teenagers allegedly stole a victim’s purse by force at the TD Bank branch at 3660 Lee Rd. in Jefferson Valley. The suspects then fled to White Plains, where they were later arrested.
Investigators allege Ashton Munoz Cordoba, 19, Engelber Eduardo Rudas Seijas, 19, and Harguar Steven Arias Salamanca, 18, acted together to forcibly steal the victim’s purse, which contained more than $1,000 in cash and multiple credit cards.
The three men were arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court before Raniolo. Bail had previously been set at $75,000 cash, $150,000 secured bond or $200,000 partially secured bond.
Following Tuesday’s appearance, the bail conditions remained unchanged, and the teenagers were remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
They are scheduled to return to court Tuesday, Sept. 8. Interpreter services will again be required for the proceeding.
