The Yorktown Central School District's junior varsity and varsity girls lacrosse teams will play in honor of 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman on Wednesday, April 8.
Yorktown will take on John Jay, with the junior varsity game starting at 4:30 p.m. and the varsity game at 6 p.m.
The program hopes to fill the stands and is asking attendees at Charlie Murphy Turf to wear coral or black. Memorial T-shirts, sold for $15 each, will donate 100 percent of the proceeds.
A 2025 graduate of Yorktown High School, Gorman was a member of the girls varsity bowling team, served as manager for the field hockey and lacrosse teams, and participated in the school’s Big Buddy peer mentoring program.
The Yorktown community continues to rally around the Gorman family as the beloved daughter, sister, and friend is remembered for making everyone feel seen. The games are a celebration of the life of Sheridan Gorman, the 18-year-old tragically killed on March 19 near her college campus at Loyola University Chicago.
