Yorktown Supervisor Ed Lachterman appeared poised to win another term Saturday morning, holding a 955-vote lead over challenger Jann Mirchandani in the race for town supervisor, according to unofficial results posted by the Westchester County Board of Elections.

Lachterman, running on the Republican and Conservative lines, had 9,023 votes, or 52.76%, to Mirchandani’s 8,068 votes, or 47.18%. Mirchandani ran on the Democratic and Community First lines. Ten write-in votes were recorded, and all 42 election districts were reporting.

In an interview with Halston Media, Lachterman said Election Day polling-place votes had been counted, but additional ballots, including affidavits and absentee ballots dropped off on Election Day, remained to be processed.

“At this point it looks like I have won the election,” Lachterman said, adding that he was grateful for the apparent outcome.

He stopped short of formally declaring victory, saying he wanted election officials to complete their work so every vote would be counted before he accepted the result.

Mirchandani did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
