John C. Hart Memorial Library will receive $20,000 in state bullet aid funding to support improvements to library services, community spaces and programming for residents of all ages.
The funding, secured by Assemblyman Matt Slater as part of a $40,000 allocation awarded to Hart and the Mahopac Public Library, will help John C. Hart Memorial Library continue enhancing resources for patrons, expanding innovative programs and improving community spaces.
“Our public libraries serve as cornerstones of our communities, providing educational opportunities, technology, programming and gathering spaces for residents of every age,” said Slater in a press release announcing the funding. “Whether it's expanding programs, improving facilities or investing in technology, these projects will ensure our libraries remain vibrant community resources for years to come.”
The investment will support the library’s ongoing efforts to serve as a hub for education, connection and lifelong learning throughout Yorktown.
“This investment will directly support our ongoing efforts to provide welcoming spaces, innovative programming and essential resources for residents of all ages. Public libraries are vital community anchors, and this funding allows us to continue evolving to meet the needs of our patrons,” Library Director Yvonne Cech said. “We sincerely appreciate Assemblyman Slater’s strong commitment to supporting local libraries and the communities they enrich.”
