Four Yorktown residents to be honored in Westchester Senior Citizens Hall of Fame

Posted

Four Yorktown residents will be recognized for their contributions to the community as part of Westchester County’s 44th annual Senior Citizens Hall of Fame celebration. Linda “Lynn” Briggs, Armand Grasso, Anthony E. Guiliano and Brian Sillik are among 61 seniors from 29 municipalities and hamlets being honored for their professional achievements, volunteer work and efforts to improve quality of life in Westchester.

The celebration will take place Dec. 4 at 11:30 a.m. at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown. The annual program recognizes older adults whose lasting contributions have strengthened their communities.

Yorktown News asked the honorees to share a few brief sentences about the honor and what it means to them. Here’s what they said.

Lynn Briggs

"I am deeply honored to be inducted into the Westchester County Senior Hall of Fame.  This recognition is a meaningful affirmation that preserving our history and strengthening our community truly matters.  I dedicate this honor to all of those who have contributed to this journey and hope this recognition inspires others to become stewards of local history — safeguarding our collective memory — to ensure that our heritage remains alive for future generations."

Armand Grasso

“My five plus years and hundreds of rides as a Volunteer driver for both RideConnect and now TRA have brought me such joy. I have met so many incredible seniors, all in need of a simple ride to a medical appointment or some other urgent need. The appreciation from them all makes every ride special and leaves me knowing that I am able to give back in some way... I will continue to volunteer as long as I can safely drive and be a daily part of their lives even for a short ride to wherever.”

Anthony E. Guiliano

“I am proud to be recognized for this opportunity and privilege to volunteer and serve our Yorktown Community. I would also like to thank everyone who allowed me to share in their experiences of service and commitment in making our world a little happier for our friends and neighbors.”

Brian Sillik

“I am honored to be nominated by Diana Quast, Town Clerk of the year 2026, to the Senior Hall of Fame. I am most humbled to be selected out of 62 nominees for Special Recognition by a panel of judges. Looking forward to the gala event on Dec. 4 at the Marriott Hotel in Tarrytown.”
