SOMERS, N.Y. - The Somers community is set to gather in solitary with the victims of a domestic violence incident that led to the death of a Somers High School student earlier this week.
On Monday, Oct. 28, Christina Raimondi and her sons Michael and Matthew were shot by Fernando Jimenez at their apartment complex in Baldwin Place. Jimenez was apprehended the following morning after an extensive manhunt.
Michael Raimondi, 15, was killed in the attack, with his mother and brother taken to the hospital in critical condition.
A community vigil will be held in Reis Park on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
In the wake of the tragic events, a fundraising effort is underway, already netting more than $136,000 for medical bills and funeral expenses for the family.
