The Sheridan Gorman Heart of Yorktown Cup, a field hockey event honoring the memory of Sheridan Gorman, will take place Saturday, Oct. 17, at Yorktown High School.
The junior varsity game begins at 10 a.m., followed by the varsity game at 3 p.m.
The event will celebrate friendship, kindness, love and sportsmanship in memory of Sheridan, a beloved member of the field hockey community. The Sheridan Gorman Foundation will award two scholarships during the event — one to a Yorktown senior and one to a Lakeland senior — recognizing student-athletes who exemplify the qualities of a kind, caring and supportive teammate.
Proceeds from the event will be divided equally between the two scholarship recipients. Commemorative T-shirts will also be sold as part of the fundraiser. Shirts must be ordered online in advance and picked up at Yorktown High School on Oct. 14 or 15 from 4 to 7 p.m.
For more information will be available on the Sheridan Gorman Foundation.
