North Salem Historical Society Unveils New Storage Shed

Posted

NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - Usually, historical societies are all about things that are old.

But in this case, it’s something brand-new that’s causing big excitement at the North Salem Historical Society’s home – aka the White Elephant -- on Keller Lane: a storage shed.

The society now has a place to safely tuck away things such as tables, chairs, easels, racks, dinnerware, glasses, and so forth.

It means that it now has more space to house and/or display the wonderful objects of local historical interest affording it, the organization said in a newsletter, “not only a glimpse into the past, but our future.”

Landscaping and wall restoration has commenced and racks and shelves are being installed in the shed.

The society thanked everyone who’d had a hand in the project, especially Tim Butler of Butler Excavating, Evan Fogle of GeoLogic Land Surveying, Sean Partenio of Rovitti Electrical Services, members of its in-house committee.

New members are always welcome. It is also looking for funds to help defray the cost of the shed project.
