Mount Kisco Police Blotter: Stolen wallet, larceny at Target

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - It was a busy start to the month for local law enforcement. 

Feb. 2

Request for a welfare check on Carpenter Avenue received at 9:39 p.m. An officer went to the residence of a man who relatives had been unable to reach by phone for the previous 24 hours. The man was found to be in good health and reported that he had just spoken with a family member to let them know he was fine.

A 25-year-old village resident was charged at 5:35 p.m. with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st Degree and Driving While Intoxicated after he backed his car into another vehicle on South Moger Avenue near Main Street. While investigating the minor accident, an officer determined that the man was intoxicated and that his license had been permanently revoked due to two previous DWI convictions. The accused was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending a Feb. 13 appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.

Feb. 3

Report received at 5:09 a.m. of a fight in progress at Boltis Street and Moore Avenue. Officers located one of the parties to the fight at his residence on Moore Avenue. The man said he had been punched several times and bitten once by another man during a dispute but he did not want to pursue the matter further. He also declined any medical attention.

Report received at 1:42 p.m. of a disorderly patron at the Mount Kisco Library on Main Street. Responding officers advised the man to leave the library and he did so.

Feb. 4

A vehicle owner reported at 3:13 p.m. that his car was damaged by a hit-and-run driver while it was parked in a lot on South Bedford Road. Witnesses reported that a tan Mercedes sedan, possibly a convertible, had struck the parked car before driving away.

Feb. 5

A village resident reported at 2:57 a.m. that two men accosted him and stole his wallet as he walked on Main Street near Grove Street. He could only describe the men as being tall but added that he believes one of them was at the same bar he had patronized a short time earlier. Patrol officers canvassed the area for suspects with negative results but recovered the man’s wallet on the ground on Grove Street. Nothing was missing from the wallet, according to the victim. The matter was turned over to detectives for continued investigation.

Feb. 7

Report received at 3:18 p.m. of a shoplifter detained by security at Target on North Bedford Road. A 37-year-old man was subsequently taken into custody and charged with Petit Larceny, a misdemeanor.  He was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending future appearance in Mount Kisco Justice Court.
