John Jay Theater Workshop to Present ‘The Dining Room’ Nov. 14 - 16

CROSS RIVER, N.Y. - "The Dining Room" opens at John Jay High School on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. 

The show runs Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m., plus a 1 p.m. matinee ON Saturday. Tickets are $5, available at the door.

The drama by A. R. Gurney stars 14 actors playing more than 50 roles—from little boys to stern grandfathers, and from giggling teenage girls to Irish housemaids—in 18 scenes, all connected in some way to a fine New England dining room.

“This play is fun!” said Director Bill Friedman. “It’s fun for the students to play all these parts, and it’s fun for the audience to follow along and discover things like … ‘that actor was just an old man, and now they’re playing a six-year-old!’”
