YORKTOWN N.Y. — Yorktown Police arrested a 31-year-old Jefferson Valley resident, charging him with criminal contempt in the first-degree, a class E felony and assault in the third-degree, a class A misdemeanor. Last Saturday, Yorktown PD was dispatched for a report of an ongoing domestic dispute in a parking lot on East Main Street. Gilbert Anthony Perez is said to have punched and struck the victim in the face following a verbal dispute, causing injuries.

Perez was in violation of a Peekskill City court order of protection, protecting the victim, during this incident. In the last five years, Perez had been convicted of criminal contempt charges.

Perez was arraigned and a temporary order of protection was issued to protect the victim. His bail was set at $10,000 cash, which he was unable to pay. Perez was remanded to the Westchester County Jail and is due in court on Thursday, Nov. 14.
