Why I’m running to help shape Somers’ future

Posted

Somers deserves leadership that prioritizes and looks forward to working together with town officials and residents to address problems and make decisions in our community's best interests.

Somers needs leadership that works constructively with state representatives to secure timely results on roads, traffic and other infrastructure projects.

Somers must plan thoughtfully for the future of its approximately 1,500 acres of vacant properties, including the Lincoln Hall property now up for sale. These properties offer an extraordinary opportunity to shape our town’s future. I am all for thoughtful planning and clear priorities. Residents can trust that Somers interests will come first when a major corporation arrives with an offer too large for town leaders to ignore. We must be prepared to stand firm against proposals that threaten our community’s character, could significantly increase traffic, or bring inappropriate development, whether an AI data center or a massive shipping facility.

After 30 years in this community, I understand what makes our town special and what is at stake. My service — as a community leader, a member of the Town Emergency Preparedness Committee, and a volunteer supporting our neighbors — reflects how I approach public service: showing up, working with others, and getting things done.

Alongside Dr. Rita Romeu, I will work for a transparent, collaborative, and forward-looking town government — one that delivers results and protects Somers’ future. That is why I am running for Town Supervisor.
