Roseann Porco, 88, of Somers, New York, formerly of Yonkers, passed away on Sept. 2, 2026.
Roseann was born on July 27, 1938, in Mount Vernon, New York, to Emil and Lucy Marzullo. She grew up alongside her sister, MaryLou Miller, and graduated from Evander Childs High School, where she earned a commercial diploma and trained as a secretary. She began her professional life as a secretary for General Motors in New York City.
Roseann was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph A. Porco, in 2009. Together, they built a beautiful life centered on family, love, and traditions that remained important to Roseann throughout her life.
Above all else, Roseann was a devoted mother and immensely proud grandmother. She is survived by her three children: Joanne and her husband, Angelo; Anthony and his wife, Cathy; and Joseph and his wife, Gloria. She was the loving grandmother of six grandchildren: Taylor, Nicholas, Anthony and Justin Fiore, and Anthony and Michael Porco. Her children and grandchildren were her greatest sources of happiness and pride.
When her children were growing up, Roseann was a Brownie leader, Cub Scout den mother, softball coach, PTA leader, and St. Barnabas Parish Quadrant Leader. Whatever her children were involved in, Roseann found a way to be part of it—giving her time and energy not only to them, but also to the many other children and families in her community.
That same spirit of involvement and caring carried into her professional life. Roseann joined the Williamsbridge Senior Center in the Bronx as an arts and crafts instructor and, through her dedication and hard work, rose through the ranks to become director of the center. It was a role that suited her perfectly. Her warmth, compassion, creativity, and natural ability to connect with people allowed her to touch the lives of countless seniors and families and to form many lasting friendships along the way.
Roseann enjoyed trips to Atlantic City and visits to Empire City Casino. She also enjoyed watching and shopping on QVC and took great pleasure in decorating her beautiful home. She had an eye for creating a warm and welcoming space that reflected her wonderful style.
Some of the family’s most treasured memories, however, were made at home. Roseann loved bringing everyone together and was known for hosting wonderful holiday celebrations. She had a special way of filling her home with family, food, and traditions that her children and grandchildren will carry with them for years to come. Those gatherings were more than celebrations; they were an expression of how deeply Roseann loved her family.
She leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories and a family forever shaped by her love. Although her presence will be deeply missed, her legacy will live on through her children and grandchildren, in the traditions she created, in every holiday spent together, and in the countless memories that will continue to keep her close in the hearts of those who loved her.
She was deeply loved and will be forever missed.
