Charles “Buddy” Fox passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, September 20, 2026, at Putnam Ridge Rehabilitation in Brewster, New York. Born on March 7, 1937, to his loving mother, Elizabeth, Charlie was the oldest of four children and was raised in the Bronx.

Charlie proudly served four years in the United States Navy, stationed in Georgia and Cuba. His years of service were just the beginning of a life defined by dedication, loyalty, and a deep commitment to the people he loved.

In 1961, Charlie met the love of his life, Eileen Elizabeth McCarron. They were married at St. Francis of Assisi Church and began their life together in the Bronx. Their marriage spanned 63 years and was filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories.

In 1969, Charlie and Eileen moved from the Bronx to Somers, New York, where they raised their four children and became an important part of the community. Charlie was a devoted father, a proud grandfather of seven, and a great-grandfather of two.

Charlie had a long and distinguished career as an NYPD Highway Patrol Officer. He served as a PBA Delegate and was a proud member of the NYPD Motorcycle #1 Red Patches. Following his retirement from the NYPD, he continued working as a chauffeur and bodyguard for Paine Webber and Nabisco.

His commitment to his community extended well beyond his career. Charlie served as Commissioner of the Somers Men’s Softball League for many years and as President of the Lake Lincolndale Property Owners Association. He was someone people could count on, always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, or simply be there when someone needed him.

Charlie loved the outdoors and spent much of his life hunting and fishing. He enjoyed playing golf and loved the New York Giants and the Yankees. But perhaps what people will remember most was Charlie himself. He was the life of the party—quick to laugh, always ready with a story, and the person you could turn to when you needed a shoulder to cry on, a place to stay, or help of any kind.

Above all else, Charlie loved his family. He adored his grandchildren and cherished every opportunity to spend time with them. He created memories with them that will be treasured for generations, and his love and presence will forever be a part of their lives.

Charlie is survived by his children, Barbara (Bob), Chuck, and John (Stephanie); his grandchildren, Colleen (Matt), Christopher (Tina), Carolyn, Katie, Brian, Cassie, and Jack; and his two great-grandsons.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Eileen; his son, Jimmy; his parents; and his brother and sisters.

Charlie’s home was always a place of love, laughter, and togetherness. There was always room for one more at his table, one more story to tell, and one more person who needed a helping hand. He had a way of making people feel welcome and cared for, and the memories made in his home will be cherished forever.

Charlie will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but most of all by his family. We hope that when you think of Charlie, you will laugh and smile.
