NORTH SALEM, N.Y. - A pedestrian was struck and killed early Monday morning on Interstate 684 in North Salem, according to New York State Police.
Troopers from State Police Somers responded to the southbound lanes near mile marker 24.3 at approximately 2 a.m. on Jan. 5 for a report of a car-versus-pedestrian collision. A preliminary investigation determined that a male pedestrian was walking in the left lane of the highway when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
No additional details about the driver involved were immediately available. State police said the investigation remains ongoing and that further information will be released as it becomes available.
