Some families build businesses. The Cartwrights built a legacy.
The story began in 1973, when Jerry Cartwright married his beloved Pam, and together they raised three daughters—Tracey, Jill, and Laura—who would become the heart of the family’s future. In 1981, the couple launched Cartwright Catering, a small venture that soon grew into Cartwright Party Rentals, known for tents, tables, linens, and a reputation for turning ordinary events into unforgettable experiences. Their craftsmanship and dedication even earned them features in The New York Times and The Avenue magazine.
By 1999, the daughters—who grew up folding linens, setting tables, and absorbing the art of hospitality—were officially recognized when the company became Cartwright & Daughters Tent & Party Rentals. It marked a pivotal moment, honoring the next generation.
Now, over four decades later, the business proudly spans three generations, with a passionate, tight-knit team that includes many longtime employees. That kind of loyalty speaks volumes. It’s not just a business; it’s a family, and that spirit shines through in every event they touch.
From elegant black-tie galas to cozy backyard celebrations, Cartwright & Daughters offers a full-service rental experience, with an extensive inventory of dramatic tents, rustic farm tables, heirloom-inspired tableware, luxe linens, lighting, and dance floors. Whatever your vision—boho-chic, traditional, or wildly creative—they’ll bring it to life with style and precision.
Their most recent expansion is Kindred Creeks Farm, a naturally stunning venue nestled in the hills of Poughquag, New York. Opened in 2019, this raw space includes a custom-built barn, wildflower meadows, and creek side views, making it a versatile setting for everything from corporate picnics to breathtaking weddings. The property also features a charming farm store and hosts monthly line dancing events.
And the entrepreneurial spirit lives on—daughter Tracey owns and runs Just 4 Fun Entertainment, a playful offshoot of the family business specializing in children’s inflatables and entertainment.
From their first tent to today's spectacular events, Cartwright & Daughters remains a trusted name in celebrations—and a cornerstone of the community.
