60th Moon Viewing Concert

From 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26. Join in for this special tradition celebrating the East Asian Autumn Moon Festival, begun by Natalie Hays Hammond in 1966. Start with tasty food available for purchase from PokeMotion Food Truck, while you enjoy variety of cultural pleasures culminating in a concert of Taiko Drumming and Bamboo Flute Music by Taiko Masala and traditional Japanese koto and shamisen music by the Masayo Ishigure and Miyabe Koto Shamisen Ensemble in the garden in the soft twilight.

Chicken Wire Empire

Appearing on Sunday, Sept. 27. Rooted in the Midwest but reaching far beyond it, Chicken Wire Empire has quickly become one of the most exciting voices in modern bluegrass. Formed in Milwaukee, the band blends tight traditional picking with a progressive edge, creating a sound that feels both familiar and refreshingly new. Their music is driven by crisp banjo lines, soaring fiddle melodies, rich vocal harmonies, and a rhythmic backbone that keeps everything locked in and moving forward.

This is a family-friendly event, a kids are free! Bring your own lawn chairs or blankets, pack a picnic, and feel free to bring wine or beer to enjoy on the lawn. In case of inclement weather, the event will move indoors to the Lake Purdys Clubhouse. Gates open at 3 p.m., showtime from 4 to 6 p.m. $30 suggested donation.
