Supervisor Hansan unopposed in Pound Ridge

Posted

Pound Ridge Supervisor Kevin Hansan is running unopposed for another term Nov. 3. Hansan defeated John McCown in 2025 but must run again because New York shifted most town elections to even-numbered years.

Hansan, who has served as supervisor since 2018, points to rising property values, town taxes kept below the state cap, growing reserves and more than $10 million in grants during his tenure. His administration has overseen improvements to Scotts Corners, including new sidewalks, streetlights and the creation of the Village Green.

A major initiative is the Scotts Corners Water District, formally established in July to address longstanding drinking-water problems, including PFAS contamination. Backed by a $7.6 million state grant, the planned system would bring treated drinking water to 39 commercially zoned parcels along Westchester Avenue.

A Pound Ridge resident for more than 30 years, Hansan earned a mathematics degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. He built and manages a technology company serving government agencies and currently serves on the Executive Committee of the New York Association of Towns.
