Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce Corner: Getting set for the Sesquicentennial

Posted

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - The birds are singing, the trees are budding, and we are all finally feeling that Spring has arrived! The Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce is seeing a surge of activity among the local business community, and everyone is looking forward to the positive momentum.

As the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce celebrates its 60th anniversary, we aim to highlight some of the businesses that have been in Mount Kisco for an impressive number of years. In our research, places of worship have demonstrated longevity and continue to make a significant contribution and impact on our community. The list has each of these at either over 100 years in existence, or very close to that milestone. Recognized are Bethel Baptist, Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, Mount Kisco Hebrew Congregation, Mount Kisco Presbyterian Church, St. Francis A.M.E. Zion Church, St. Francis of Assisi Church, St. Mark’s Church, United Methodist Church, Temple Bet Torah, and Temple Shaaray Tefila. (Please contact the Chamber about any that may have inadvertently been omitted.) We thank them all for their dedication to the community!

One of the most exciting and meaningful events that the Mount Kisco Chamber of Commerce puts on each year is the Chamber Honors dinner. We take time out of everyone’s busy schedule to recognize a dedicated and caring individual, business, and organization. Members of the MKCC have selected them, and they represent the best of what it means to volunteer, give back, and shine a light on the community. The dinner is a small but meaningful way of honoring the 2025 recipients of our Chamber Honors. This year, we honor Jane Pieragostini as our Citizen of the Year, Minuteman Press Mount Kisco as our Business of the Year, and the Mount Kisco Historical Society as our Organization of the Year. Tickets and/or Journal Ads are available on our website at www.mtkiscochamber.com.

May also brings an amazing, fun-filled weekend celebrating the Sesquicentennial of the incorporation of Mount Kisco, also known as MK150! This will take place on the weekend of May 31. Please visit www.mtkisco150.com to view the calendar of events, purchase merchandise, and make a donation to this exciting celebration of Mount Kisco's history.

We hope to see you at several of these events and enjoy Spring. Also, if you have suggestions for the list of businesses with a long history in Mount Kisco, please send them to director@mtkiscochamber.com.
