Mount Kisco Police Blotter: Hit and Run, Business Vandalized

MOUNT KISCO, N.Y. - Police responded to numerous calls to end the month, including a vehicle damaged in a hit-and-run and vandalization at a business on South Moger Avenue.

Nov. 1

A Chappaqua resident reported at 10:34 a.m. that her car was damaged by a hit-and-run driver while it was parked in the village the day before. The resident said she discovered the damage after arriving home the previous night. She said she had parked near Target on North Bedford Road and in the Blackeby lot while shopping and was uncertain where the damage had occurred.

Oct. 31

Noise complaint received at 11 p.m. regarding four men sitting in a Jeep parked on Lexington Avenue. The vehicle was gone upon an officer’s arrival.

A 66-year-old woman came to the Green Street precinct at 7:37 p.m. to report that she had been evicted from her residence in Bedford and had nowhere to stay for the night. An officer was able to make arrangements for temporary shelter and notified the Mobile Crisis Response Team to follow-up in the morning with her to provide additional assistance.

Oct. 30

A business on North Bedford Road notified police at 12:48 p.m. that it was having a vehicle towed away that had been left without permission on its property. It provided the make, model and license plate of the car in case the owner contacted police in an effort to locate it.

Oct. 29

Staff at a laundromat on Lexington Avenue reported at 3:56 p.m. that damage had been discovered to a card machine. It is unclear when the damage occurred.

The owner of a business on South Moger Avenue reported at 12:54 p.m. that someone vandalized the front door lock sometime after the business closed at 6 p.m. the previous day. An officer was unable to locate any security video that captured the incident. The owner verified that no property had been taken from inside the business.

A resident reported at 11:14 a.m. that someone attempted to use three credit cards in his name at stores in Mount Vernon. The man said he was expecting the cards to arrive by mail when he learned of the attempted fraud and canceled them.

Oct. 28

A 48-year-old Ossining man was charged at 1:53 a.m. with Driving While Intoxicated, a misdemeanor, and Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, a violation. An officer on another call in the 200 block of Main Street observed the man back into a parked car and then drive away. The officer made a traffic stop on West Hyatt Avenue, where the driver failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. He was booked at the Green Street precinct and released pending a Nov. 7 appearance in village court.
