Kindness blooms at The Flower Boutique

A simple gift of flowers became an opportunity to brighten someone else’s day at The Flower Boutique in Mahopac last Wednesday, when owner Karen Cilmi welcomed the community for the annual Petal It Forward event.

Visitors to the shop, located at 4 Veschi Lane North, received two complimentary bouquets: one to enjoy themselves and another to give to someone else as an act of kindness. Whether shared with a friend, neighbor, coworker or stranger, each bouquet carried a message of joy, generosity and goodwill.

Part of a national floral industry initiative organized by the Society of American Florists, Petal It Forward encourages people to experience the happiness of both receiving flowers and giving them away.

Cilmi has participated for several years, but this year’s overwhelmingly enthusiastic response made the occasion especially meaningful. Community members embraced the opportunity to share something beautiful and help kindness reach beyond the shop’s doors.

For Cilmi, the event’s success was about more than the bouquets given away. It was about the smiles, connections and thoughtful gestures those flowers inspired throughout the community.

The Flower Boutique extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who stopped in and helped carry that spirit of kindness forward. Grateful for the tremendous support, Cilmi already looks forward to continuing the tradition next year.
