A driver was extricated from an overturned vehicle Tuesday morning, April 21, after crashing into a residence on Drewville Road in Carmel, prompting a multi-agency emergency response.
At approximately 10:06 a.m., Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department crews were dispatched alongside Carmel Police, Carmel Volunteer Ambulance Corps, the Carmel Fire Department and Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department on a report of a vehicle that run into a structure with a possible fire and a person trapped.
First-arriving Carmel police officers determined there was no structural fire but confirmed that a vehicle had overturned and the driver remained trapped inside.
Firefighters stabilized the vehicle and removed its roof to safely extricate the occupant. The individual was then turned over to emergency medical personnel and transported to the hospital for evaluation.
No further information on the driver’s condition was immediately available.
