SOUTH SALEM, N.Y. - After a rigorous search led by Bradbury Miller & Associates, the Lewisboro Library Board is pleased to welcome Carrie Bickner as the next leader of the Lewisboro Library.
“We are thrilled for Carrie to join the Lewisboro Library,” said Maggie Liegey, president of the Lewisboro Library Board of Trustees. “Libraries have never been more important, and we are incredibly fortunate to have Carrie leading us into this next chapter. We are confident that under her leadership, the Library will continue to build on everything that makes it the heart of our community and a cornerstone of education, connection, and culture in Lewisboro.”
Bickner is a librarian, educator and organizational leader whose career spans nearly three decades across public libraries, cultural institutions and civic organizations. Her work is grounded in core library services and brings together strategic planning, staff leadership, fundraising, communications, facilities and technology.
“The Lewisboro Library has a special role in this community. It is a place where people come to learn, connect, discover and participate in the life of the town. I’m looking forward to building on that strong foundation and working with the staff, Board and community to help the Library flourish and remain an institution people value, use and support,” said Bickner.
Bickner most recently served as systems librarian at Lawrence Technological University and has been an independent consultant and taught at Pratt Institute. She spent a decade at the New York Public Library, with leadership roles spanning public service, digital strategy, communications and technology. She led multidisciplinary teams, developed services and institutional strategies, and connected collections, programs and expertise with broader audiences.
“We are tremendously grateful to our Library staff, past and present, whose dedication and hard work have shaped the Library into the beloved community institution it is today, and we can’t wait to see what Carrie and our team accomplish together,” Liegey added.
