Greg Renza, 58, died Oct. 25, 2025.
He was born in Sharon, Conn., on Feb. 14, 1967, to Remo (Ray) and Kathleen (Kathy) Renza. At an early age, Greg and his family moved to Lincoln Park, N.J. He graduated from Boonton High School in 1985 and Rutgers University in 1989.
After graduating, Greg leaned into his tech-savvy expertise, strong leadership and people skills to build a successful IT and training career. He worked at PCLC, Productivity Point International and Perfect Access Spear. For nearly the last 20 years, he was the senior manager of learning and practice support at Weil, Gotshal & Manges in New York City.
When Greg wasn’t working or being a busy husband and father, he found time to enjoy home hobbies. When he discovered a new interest, he was all in—from research to execution to perfection. Over the years, some of his favorites included maple sugaring, beer making, playing “old man” lacrosse and woodworking. He loved sharing his experiences and the fruits of his labor with friends and family.
Greg was always ready to lend a helping hand. Whether it was lending out a tool, helping a neighbor fix something or offering his chainsaw during hurricanes and power outages, his generosity and willingness to help made him a pillar of his community. He often showed up before anyone even had to ask.
A dedicated father, Greg coached his sons in CYO basketball, youth lacrosse and AYSO soccer. He also volunteered with their Boy Scout troop, accompanying them on camping trips, assisting in community service projects and helping to educate and guide the scouts. He valued being present in his sons’ lives and cherished every opportunity to teach, encourage and share his love of the outdoors and teamwork.
Though Greg had many interests, playing music was his most passionate hobby. As a boy, he learned guitar through lessons and later taught himself keyboard and voice. Music remained a constant force throughout his life. As a guitarist, keyboardist, singer and musical director, he performed with bands, acoustic duos and as a solo act. Some favorite songs to sing or play were “Maybe I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney, “Life During Wartime” by Talking Heads and “Flagpole Sitta” by Harvey Danger.
In his early 20s, he formed his first band, Global Disrobal. For the past 10 years, The Station Agents—a local band of seven dads and lifelong musicians—played classic rock and pop hits from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s at venues and festivals across Westchester County, N.Y. Greg was also part of the Jack Toad band, which performed across Westchester and in Greenport, Long Island. In addition, he played weekly with the Legendary Tuesday Night Jam Band, sharing his love of music, camaraderie and improvisation with fellow local musicians.
Greg loved life and enjoyed it to the fullest, finding humor in everything. He was a friend who was always ready to share life lessons, thoughtful advice and a good laugh. He best expressed himself through music and wit, bringing fun and joy to those around him. He will be missed by his family, friends, band members, band supporters and colleagues.
Greg is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Dannielle (Sgueglia) of Yonkers, N.Y., and his two sons, Scott and Jonathan. He is also survived by his parents, Ray and Kathy, of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; two sisters and their husbands, Deborah and Frank Puccio of Lakewood Ranch, Fla., and Jennifer and Patrick Ahrendt of Anaheim, Calif.; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Michelle (Sgueglia) and Phil D’Ambrosio of Rye, N.Y.; and his father-in-law, George Sgueglia of Greenwich, Conn. He will be missed by his nieces and nephews, Isabella, Jack and Ryan D’Ambrosio—Ryan being his godson—and Sabrina and Angelina Ahrendt.
Visiting hours will be 1 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, at Cassidy-Flynn Funeral Directors, 288 E. Main St., Mount Kisco, N.Y.
