Francis Patrick Riordan, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at home at the age of 88 after courageously managing a decline in his health in recent months.

Frank was born in Bellmore, NY on August 13, 1937, to the late Thomas Riordan and Roseanne Tomany Riordan. He grew up in Lawrence, NY with his four siblings: John, Tom, Rosemarie and Pat, with whom he is now reunited with in heaven. Frank was the first in his family to attend college and graduated from St. John's University in Queens, NY and began a career in publishing. He worked at Chilton Company and ABC Publishing before starting his own business, which he ran with his family until his retirement in 2009.

Frank is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Peggy Longley Riordan. They married in 1966 and moved from Long Island to bucolic Pound Ridge, NY, where they cultivated lifelong friendships and raised their three children Chris Riordan (Tracy), Timothy Riordan (Eileen) and Melissa Louis (George). Frank would take the family on weekend ski trips and vacations to New Hampshire, Hilton Head & Florida. When not traveling, Peggy and Frank's "oasis in the woods" served as a backdrop for countless joyful events such as Derby Day parties with friends and summer Sunday afternoons on the patio with family. Frank adored his seven grandchildren Genevieve, Elijah, Noelle, George, Michael, Kate, and Sean. Frank was very proud of his grandchildren, and they brought a big smile to his face whenever he spoke of them.

Frank loved the game of golf and enjoyed playing year-round between New York and their winter retreat in Florida. Peggy and Frank were grateful to escape the wintry weather and enjoy the sunshine and relaxed pace of Highland Beach, FL for many years together.

Frank will be remembered for his warmth, kindness and gratitude. He enjoyed life and spending time with the people that meant the most to him: his family, friends & loved ones.

A Funeral Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, May 15, at St. Patrick's Church, 7 Pound Ridge Road, Bedford, NY. Interment followed at the Pound Ridge Cemetery on Westchester Avenue.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Website: https://kidneytribute.rallybound.org/FrankRiordan
