In Mahopac, Schneider Financial Group is known not only for financial expertise, but for a legacy built on service.

The firm was founded by Alan Schneider, whose commitment to integrity and personalized financial guidance earned the trust of families and businesses throughout the community. Jonathan Schneider began his career working alongside his father, learning the business from the ground up and embracing the values that defined the firm from its earliest days.

After Alan’s passing in 2012, Jonathan assumed leadership — honoring his father’s foundation while successfully growing and modernizing the business to meet the evolving needs of clients. Today, Schneider Financial Group blends technical accounting knowledge with a deeply personal approach rooted in lifelong local service.

Schneider Financial Group serves a wide range of clients. Individuals benefit from personalized tax preparation and retirement strategies. Small businesses and entrepreneurs receive comprehensive accounting, payroll and advisory services. Independent professionals and industry-specific clients — including those in trades and real estate — gain tailored solutions designed around their unique financial needs.

A legacy of service

Jonathan Schneider is a lifelong Mahopac resident and Mahopac High School graduate whose professional path reflects a consistent commitment to service.

Before serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom with the United States Marine Corps, Schneider worked as a member of the NYPD. He later joined his father in the family business, where he learned firsthand the importance of building relationships and putting clients first.

“My father built this firm on integrity and a genuine desire to help people,” Schneider said. “Working with him taught me that service to your clients and service to your community go hand in hand.”

Following his father’s passing in 2012, Schneider stepped into a leadership role and expanded the firm while maintaining its core principles of trust, transparency and accountability.

His dedication to service extends well beyond the office. Schneider has served as president of the Mahopac Board of Education, a member of the Carmel Town Board, board member of the Greater Mahopac-Carmel Chamber of Commerce, Treasurer of the Vista Fire District, and member of the Putnam Hospital Foundation Board. He has also volunteered for many years as a coach in the Mahopac Sports Association and served as the local coordinator for the Putnam Northern Westchester Toys for Tots Program. He is the father of three children.

“I have continuously dedicated my time to our community and am proud of my track record of service,” Schneider said. “My focus is always looking out for the community's best interest, and this will be no different.”
