Nicola Resciniti, known to family and friends as Nick, passed away on July 8, 2026, in Putnam Valley, New York, at the age of 68.

Born on August 17, 1957, in Italy, Nick carried the values of his upbringing throughout his life, living with warmth, humility, and a deep devotion to the people he loved. He was a man whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him, and he will be remembered for his loving heart, kind spirit, and friendly nature. Nick’s life was marked by hard work, faith, and a genuine appreciation for the simple pleasures that made life meaningful.

Nick received his high school education in Italy, where he began building the foundation of a life defined by dedication and perseverance. After coming to the United States, he embraced every opportunity to work, serve, and provide for his family. He was the owner and chef of Jerry’s Pizza, where his skill, pride, and passion for cooking were evident in every dish he prepared. For more than 25 years, he was also a valued employee of Maritime College, where he earned the respect and friendship of colleagues through his dependable work ethic and steady character.

Nick found great happiness in gathering with family and friends, sharing meals, and creating memories around the table. Cooking was not only his profession but also one of his greatest joys, and he took pride in bringing people together through food and hospitality. He also loved gardening, spending time outdoors, and especially cherished playing with his grandchildren, who brought him immense pride and happiness. He enjoyed a good glass of wine and the fellowship that came with conversation, laughter, and togetherness.

Nick is survived by his beloved wife, Lisa; his children, Anthony and Rosemary; his grandchildren, Lilyana and Morgan; his brother, Francesco; and his sister, Antoinetta. He was predeceased by his sister, Catarina and his parents Antonio and Rosina. His family was the center of his world, and he devoted himself to them with unwavering love and care. He leaves behind a legacy of devotion that will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him best.

Those who knew Nick will remember his welcoming smile, his generous nature, and the way he made others feel valued and at ease. He had a gift for making ordinary moments feel special, and his home, his table, and his heart were always open to others. His life was a testament to the importance of family, faith, hard work, and kindness. Always making time for the ones around him. In his words, "Life is too short."
