With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Dubravko Vargovic aka Donny. He passed away at home in Pennsylvania on February 25th, 2025. Donny was born in Bregenz, Austria, on March 16, 1970. He was the beloved son of Milka and Ivan Vargovic and came to this country in 1971.
Donny attended Lehman High School in the Bronx and loved woodworking, the outdoors, walks in the woods and most of all, his family, who were incredibly important to him.
As a carpenter with the NYC District Council of Carpenters, Donny was a skilled carpenter who devoted nineteen excellent years to his craft and profession. This skill extended to the fact that he built his family home and loved it completely.
Donny’s sister, Nancy Jakobsen and her husband, Glen were dear to him, along with his nieces and nephews Sabrina, Gabriela and Erik.
Donny walked through life with strength, and will be deeply missed by his family, friends and colleagues.
To commemorate Donny’s life, a visitation will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY 10509.
A funeral service will take place at Beecher Funeral Home on Friday, March 7, 2025, at 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY 10509 at 10 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral service at St. Lawrence O’Toole Cemetery, 40 Turk Hill Road, Brewster, NY 10509.
