A Yorktown woman is facing a felony assault charge after what police described as a domestic dispute.
Yorktown police said officers were called to a home late Friday night, Sept. 12, after getting a report of an incident. When they arrived, they investigated and determined that 55-year-old Jacquelin Mulroy had allegedly struck the victim with a purse, causing injury.
She was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, a Class D felony. Police did not say what led to the dispute.
Mulroy was taken to police headquarters, then arraigned in Yorktown Justice Court. The judge issued a temporary order of protection for the victim.
She was released on her own recognizance and is due back in court Thursday at 6 p.m.
