YORKTOWN HEIGHTS, N.Y. — The town of Yorktown honored local veterans with a ceremony on Nov. 11 — a poignant moment of reflection at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month — at The Veteran Memorials Circle, located behind Town Hall.
Community members gathered to pay tribute to those who have served, with remarks and moments of pause to honor their sacrifice. The park is home to the town’s five memorial stones honoring World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and the War on Terror.
The day-of ceremony followed the annual Veterans Day Parade in Shrub Oak on Sunday, Nov. 9, which led from Lakeland High School to the John C. Hart Memorial Library. For photos from the parade, click here.
