YORKTOWN, N.Y. — A 40-year-old Peekskill woman was arrested by Yorktown Police and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class A misdemeanor.
Tamar Williams was pulled over late at night on Feb. 4 for speeding. During the traffic stop, police say they discovered that the vehicle she was driving was stolen from Pennsylvania.
Williams was also charged with five traffic infractions: speed not reasonable and prudent; unregistered motor vehicle; uninspected motor vehicle; improper plates; operating without insurance.
After processing, Williams was issued uniform traffic tickets and a desk appearance ticket. She was released on her own recognizance and is scheduled to appear for arraignment on Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. at the Yorktown Justice Court.
