YORKTOWN, N.Y.—Members of Knights of Columbus Council 4012 of Yorktown Heights celebrated the memory of the Council’s founder, Fr. John LaFarge Jr., who died on Nov. 16, 1963, and is buried at the Loyola Seminary Cemetery adjacent to Granite Knolls Park. Prayers were led by the Council chaplain, Monsignor Giandurco, followed by a brief reflection by Fr. Frederick Pelligrini, SJ. Fr. LaFarge founded the Catholic Interracial Council of New York (1939), served in leadership roles in many Catholic organizations, and was instrumental in founding Council 4012 in 1955.
