In observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Race Amity of Northern Westchester and Putnam sponsored “Wealth and Justice,” which was hosted by Grace Lutheran Church in Yorktown Heights. About 40 people attended the Jan. 19 event, including state Sen. Pete Harckham and Peter Chatzky, a Democratic candidate for New York’s 17th Congressional District.

Attendees heard presentations drawn from King’s writings and speeches, along with small-group discussions and music. Participants said the event was both moving and educational.

Race Amity of Northern Westchester and Putnam hosts monthly discussions. For more information, email raceamitynwp@gmail.com.
