YORKTOWN, N.Y.—The Yorktown Heights Volunteer Fire Department’s annual carnival is underway, continuing through Sunday, June 29. Hours are 6 to 11 p.m. Thursday and Friday, noon to 11 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 7 p.m. Sunday.
The department’s biggest fundraiser features rides, games, raffles, food, drinks for those 21 and older, and live entertainment. Sausage and peppers and zeppoles are longtime crowd favorites.
“It’s a good, safe, clean place for people to come and have a good time,” said department president Jeff Wilson, who called the event a reflection of community spirit and support. “It brings us all back together.”
In addition to the regular raffle tickets traditionally sold throughout the carnival, this year Yorktown Heights VFD is also selling raffle tickets for a Large Carins N5A New Yorker Leather Fire Helmet. Tickets are $20 each. Only 250 tickets will be sold. The winner of the 2025 Parade Leather Helmet Raffle will be announced at the parade trophy ceremony. The winner does not have to be present at the ceremony.
