The Yorktown Fam Jam has been rescheduled to June 20, according to the town of Yorktown, due to a forecast of rain.

The event, originally scheduled for Saturday, will now be held on Commerce Street on June 20. Fam Jam will retain its planned activities, including live music, a children’s fun zone and a soccer challenge. Food trucks and craft beer vendors will be located nearby.

Now in its fifth year, the event has quickly grown into a local favorite, with organizers expecting about 3,000 attendees for a day filled with live entertainment, activities and community spirit.

Created by a small group of Yorktown residents, Fam Jam is entirely volunteer-run and focused on giving back. Since its founding in 2022, the event has aimed to raise money for local programs and organizations that support residents in need.

“We can have fun with everyone in the community, network, and raise money for organizations that really make a difference,” organizer Brian Duffy told Yorktown News this spring.

This year’s event will benefit the Yorktown Volunteer Ambulance Corps and the Mohegan Lake Volunteer Ambulance Corps, while continuing support for local scholarships.

Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, an appetite and community spirit to celebrate Yorktown’s growth and support local first responders and volunteers.
