A Yonkers man is facing multiple felony charges after being accused of stealing several vehicles last year from a residential complex on Strawberry in Mohegan Lake.
A Yorktown Police Dept. Press release said the charges stem from an Aug. 31, 2024, incident in which multiple vehicles were reported stolen from 1715 Strawberry Road.
Police said a monthslong investigation determined that 39-yearold Marcus Powell used a tow truck to remove the vehicles.
He was arraigned Sept. 8 in Yorktown Justice Court on charges of second-degree grand larceny, a class C felony; third-degree grand larceny, a class D felony; and fourth-degree grand larceny, a class E felony. He was remanded to Westchester County Jail and was scheduled to return to court Sept. 9.
It is unclear if Powell has any connection to the property.
An arrest warrant was issued for Powell following the investigation. On Sept. 8, Yorktown police said they were notified that he was in custody at the Westchester County Department of Corrections, and officers responded to take him into custody.
