YORKTOWN, N.Y. — Things got busy early on a sweltering day in Yorktown, as local birds descended on a bird feeder and fountain in search of a meal—and something to wash it down. Aspiring veterinary technician Diana Zhinin, who has been helping a senior in her care color birds in a large book, picked up a camera and captured these shots.
Her favorite bird in this set is the cardinal, though her photos of a finch with attitude, a hungry redheaded woodpecker and a busy hummingbird grabbed our attention.
