Vito John Vacco Jr., a lifelong resident of Pelham Bay, Bronx, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, at the age of 91. Born in 1934 in Harlem, NY, he was the son of Vito and Lena Vacco.
Vito is survived by his wife, Diane; his sons Vincent (Rosemarie), Ronnie (Patricia), Michael (Nevele), Paul (Jessica), Nicholas (Alyssa), and Christopher (Jennifer); his grandchildren Steven (Michelle), Joseph (Juliana), Zachary (Kristin), Kyle, Evan, Jacob, Roseann, Donovan, and Cameron; his great-grandchildren Sophia, Eliana, Genna, and Jonathan; and his sisters Virginia Bibbo and Gloria Pace. He was preceded in death by his siblings Phillip Vacco, Anthony Vacco, Mary Coqueran, and John Vacco.
A devoted barber at the Woolworth Building in New York City, Vito cherished the connections he made through his work. He enjoyed cheering on the New York Giants and Yankees, listening to Frank Sinatra, and savoring a good chicken parmesan—simple pleasures that reflected his warmth and authenticity.
Vito lived life on his own terms, with heart, conviction, and unwavering dedication to his family.
He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.
