It’s important to do the little things right, and hitting in crucial spots is one of those big things.”

“Usually it is the Croton Relays, but they are having work done on their fields and track, so they asked us if we could host their meet for them this year,” said Yorktown coach Keith Smith. “We were happy to be able to help out Croton this year and luckily, with a forecast of heavy rain all day, the weather actually cooperated and we had a pretty nice day.”
Mary Cabral and Adhra Bajrami (2:50.1, 400-meter hurdle relay), Sophia Luo, Bajrami, Makayla Winslow (59.71, shuttle-hurdle relay), and Isabelle Bevilacqua, Ansley Edelmann, Luna Kola, Amanda Linahan (4:29.23, 1,600-meter relay) all finished in first place in their respective events.
“Our team performed very well with a mixture of seasoned veterans and young athletes,” Smith said.

The girls 4x800-meter team of Day, senior Jill Cinquina, sophomore Margaret Keating, and freshman Aaliyah Thomas finished second before placing first in a distance medley relay.
"I'm impressed we did very well despite having a skeleton crew compete on Saturday,” said Lakeland/Panas coach John Benvin. “With the weather not cooperating for every meet this season so far, yesterday was a bit of a nice feeling to have a meet in warmer climates. With the important meets coming up in May we've been trying a few things out and running relay lineups out, to see what we'll be going with at the league championships. Those that did compete did very well and there were some new personal bests recorded. I’m eager to have May arrive, so we can see how we do."
