Labor Day Collections

Labor Day will affect kitchen trash and recycling collection schedules on Monday, Sept. 7. Monday collections will be picked up Tuesday, Sept. 8, and Tuesday collections will be picked up Wednesday, Sept. 9. All other collections will remain on their regular schedules. Residents should place all pails curbside by 6 a.m. on their scheduled collection day.

Town Board Work Session

The public meeting will be held Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m. at Yorktown Town Hall Board Room, 363 Underhill Ave.

Senior Citizens Hall of Fame Nominations

Westchester County is accepting nominations for the 44th Annual Senior Citizens Hall of Fame, honoring residents age 60 and older who have made significant contributions to their communities. Nominations are due Sept. 9. The Hall of Fame celebration and luncheon will be held Dec. 4 at the Westchester Marriott in Tarrytown. Temple Beth Shalom

The Religious School at Temple Beth Shalom, 760 Route 6 in Mahopac, will host an open house Wednesday, Sept. 9, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Returning and prospective students and their families are invited to meet teachers, the new education director and classmates. Refreshments will be served.

Climate Smart Communities Task Force

The group meets on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 7:30 p.m. at Albert A. Capellini Community & Cultural Center, Room 104, 1974 Commerce St.
