Yorktown-based Support Connection has teamed up with Smart Patients, an online peer-to-peer support forum, to offer more resources for patients and families affected by breast, ovarian, and other gynecological cancers.
The collaboration, announced Thursday, provides patients with free access to Smart Patients’ cancer communities, complementing Support Connection’s existing peer counseling, support, wellness, and educational programs. Participants can share experiences, ask questions, and connect with others facing similar challenges in a secure online environment.
“Connecting with others who truly understand your journey can be life-changing," said Peer Counselor Laura Markowski. “Through this partnership with Smart Patients, our clients now have another resource for a safe space to share, learn, and find comfort in knowing they are not alone.”
Creating an account is free. Users provide a secure email, confirm it, and gain access to community conversations, resources, and information relevant to their needs. Those interested in joining can visit smartpatients.com/partners/support-connection.
