Lakeland-Panas fell to Clarkstown in Thursday’s Section 1 gymnastics championships, but senior Olivia Marricco earned a spot in the state meet on the uneven bars.
Marricco finished sixth in the all-around with a 37.025 and took second on the uneven bars with a 9.725. She also scored 9.125 on vault, 8.925 on beam, and 9.250 on floor.
Anastasia Iannazzo posted a 36.150 all-around, scoring 9.000 on vault, 8.950 on uneven bars, 9.275 on beam and 8.925 on floor. Gianna Del Ponte totaled 34.925 (8.900 vault, 9.100 bars, 7.800 beam, 9.125 floor). Charlotte Bordes finished with 32.635 (8.025 vault, 8.125 bars, 8.125 beam, 8.350 floor), and Izzy Albano totaled 32.200 (8.025 vault, 7.250 bars, 8.825 beam, 8.100 floor).
Yorktown’s Ciara Burch scored 31.375 in the all-around, with 8.025 on vault, 6.875 on bars, 8.700 on beam and 7.775 on floor.
Marricco led the Rebels to a second-place team finish, 173.6 to Clarkstown’s 175.65. Caitlin Gallagher contributed scores of 7.625 on vault, 6.700 on bars, 7.800 on beam and 8.775 on floor during the team competition.
The 15-member NYSPHSAA team will compete at Valley Gymnastics in Utica, starting at 10 a.m. on Feb. 28.
