Run for Recovery 5K returns for 12th year in September

Posted

Run 4 Recovery, Drug Crisis in Our Backyard, Search for Change and the Alliance for Safe Kids announced the kickoff of the 12th annual Run for Recovery 5K Run/Walk, which supports individuals on their recovery journeys and raises awareness during National Recovery Month in September.

The in-person event is scheduled for Sept. 26 at FDR State Park. Participants also may take part virtually throughout the month.

This year’s event will again include the Save A Life Wellness Fair, offering attendees access to recovery and wellness resources. Organizers said the Virtual Save A Life Wellness Fair also remains available year-round.

The organizations are seeking sponsors and community partners to support the event and its outreach efforts.

The official launch was celebrated during the Search for Change Community Recognition Breakfast on May 7.
