Rose Fraioli passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, surrounded by her loving children. She was 95 years old.

Born on May 3, 1930, Rose lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and a deep love for family, children, and books. Known affectionately to everyone as “Minnie,” she was called this by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and by most who knew and loved her. She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas Fraioli, who predeceased her in 2013, and together they built a home filled with warmth, love, and endless hospitality.

Rose was a devoted mother to her three children: Teresa Bonner (Johnny), Patti Senno, and Joseph Fraioli (Billy). She was a proud and loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Daniel (Tina), Jenna (Terrance), Nicholas (Jenet), Andrew, Brian (Jean), and Kayla (Jordan), and a cherished great-grandmother to six great-grandchildren: Lamar Jr., Nicholas Jr., Noah, Mason, Logan, and Jackson. She treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially playing cards with them, moments that will be forever remembered and cherished.

Rose dedicated much of her life to nurturing young minds. She retired in 1984 as a librarian assistant from Brookside School in Yorktown, but retirement did not slow her passion for books or children. Following her first retirement, she began what became a second beloved chapter of her career in the Children’s Room at the Peekskill Field Library. For 28 years, Rose brought joy, encouragement, and enthusiasm to countless children, celebrating their reading accomplishments and fostering a lifelong love of learning. She officially retired for a second time in 2017.

Beyond her professional life, Rose was known for her love of cooking and feeding others. No one ever left her home hungry, whether family, friend, or stranger. Rose was the kindest, gentlest soul, with a presence that lit up every room she entered. She treated everyone the same, with compassion and respect. She was endlessly giving, always placing others before herself. Her sense of humor was reflected in her witty sayings, expressive looks, and warm, knowing smiles, which often said more than words ever could.

Rose’s kindness, generosity, and warmth touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a rare gift for making people feel important, valued, and deeply loved. Her legacy lives on through her family and through the many lives she touched along the way.

She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
