Pizzarello (8G, 1A) had a huge game in the Rebels’ 13-2 victory over Irvington.
“Our energy and communication made a big difference today,” Pizzarello said. “We came out focused and kept the intensity high the whole game. We have been working hard during practice and it has paid off. We can’t wait to keep up this momentum going into the rest of our games.”
Goldstein (2G, 3A), Kuney (1G), Brooke Stewart (1G), Hoffman (1G), Wilkowski (1A) and Lynch (9 saves) also contributed to the win.

Yorktown, ranked No. 13 in the Class B state poll, earned a 10-8 win over Connecticut powerhouse Wilton behind Juliet Horton (1 ground ball), Megan Durante (1 ground ball), Sydney Sateriale (2G, 1 draw control), Ava Ryan (2G, 2 caused turnovers, 1 ground ball), Lily Diaz (1G, 3A, 2 caused turnovers, 3 ground balls, 4 draw controls), Annie Cunneen (4G, 1A, 2 ground balls, 8 draw controls) and Julia Fitzsimons (6 saves).
“It was a huge win for us,” Cunneen said. “Wilton is a really strong team, so getting that win meant a lot. We came in as underdogs, but it showed that if we play our game, we can compete with anyone and come out on top.”

Rye, the No. 3-ranked Class C team in the state, defeated Yorktown 15-9. The Huskers were led by Horton (1G, 1 caused turnover, 1 ground ball), Durante (1A), Sateriale (1G, 1A, 5 draw controls), Ryan (4G, 2A), Diaz (1G, 1 caused turnover, 1 ground ball, 7 draw controls), Cunneen (2G, 3A, 5 draw controls), Sullivan (1 ground ball), Wilson (1 caused turnover), Schluter (1 caused turnover) and Fitzsimons (7 saves, 2 ground balls).
Lakeland/Panas 7, Westlake 6
Tuesday, April 21, Walter Panas High School
CC Savastano (4G) scored with 5:41 left in the game to break a 6-6 tie and give Lakeland/Panas a 7-6 triumph over Westlake.
“Breaking the 6–6 tie meant a lot, especially in such a close game,” Savastano said. “It felt great to step up and get the game-winner and doing it on senior night made it even more special. I couldn’t have done it without my teammates putting me in that position and making it happen.”
Anthony Costa (2G), Keaton Wolf (1G, 1A), Aaron Federoff (2A), Patrick Harkins (1A), Mike Zumatto (1A), Gio LaPeruta (1A) and Dan Horowitz (13 saves) also contributed to the win.
Savastano, Harkins, Joe LaPeruta, Mason DiPaola, Frank Flannery and Dom Lemma were the seniors honored before the game.

Savastano (3G, 4A), Ray (4G, 2A), Gio LaPeruta (4G), Federoff (2G, 1A), Wolf (1G, 1A), Liam McManus (1G), Harkins (1A), Dan Horowitz (9 saves), Nate Horowitz (8/9 faceoffs) and Frank Flannery (7/9 faceoffs) did the job for the Rebels in their 15-3 win over Hendrick Hudson.

Vinny Marchini (4G), Gianluca Marchini (2G, 2A) and JT Carney (3G, 1A) led Yorktown, and also got contributions from Sean Munnelly (1G, 2A), Tommy Carney (2A), Frank Ofrias (1G), Brady Sheridan (1G), Evan Kurth (1G), Jayden Tyndal (1G), Aidan Concannon (1G) and Ryan Fastiggi (1A). Hunter Mezzatesta (8 saves) anchored the defense as Yorktown beat Harrison 15-4. Yorktown entered the game as the No. 6 Class B team in the state rankings.

Kevin Brown went 3-for-3 with 2 RBIs, including the walk-off hit, giving Lakeland a 5-4 win in 8 innings against Croton-Harmon. Brown’s walk-off hit went to left field with one out on a 3-1 count, driving in Alex Mautone from third base. Mautone (3-for-5, run, 2 RBIs) led off the eighth inning with a base hit.
“During the at bat I was thinking, I have to hit the ball hard through a hole or into the outfield but I give credit to my teammates who did a great job to get on base and helped put me in a great spot,” Brown said. “It felt amazing getting a team win to improve to 5-5 on the season.”
Brown also stood out on the mound, allowing five hits and two earned runs over 7.2 innings with no walks and seven strikeouts. Ryan Battista worked one-third of an inning and earned the win in relief.
Ramzi Doñe (2-for-3, run), Mikey Santoiemma (2-for-4, RBI), JJ Alleva (first varsity hit), Louie Vernagallo (1 hit, run, stolen base) and Battista (1 hit, run) came through offensively for Lakeland.

Luke Ciamei’s RBI single in the seventh inning brought home Swaraaj Pujari from second base to give Yorktown a 1-0 win over rival Mahopac, its fourth straight victory.
“During the at bat I was just trying to stay as calm as possible and slow down the game,” Ciamei said. “Getting the hit gave me a burst of energy and relief at the same time. It was a ground ball to third that hit their diving players glove and got into the outfield.”
Liam O’Connor (3.1 innings, 3 hits, 2 walks, 3 strikeouts), Jack Falk (win, 1 inning, 0 hits, 0 walks) and Jake Sgobbo (save, 2.2 innings, 1 hit, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts) combined on the shutout for Yorktown.

“As seniors are the bulk of our team, it was very exciting getting to see all of our seniors playing their hearts out on the field,” Monaco said. “Our team is so strong this year and we are so excited to keep moving forward.”
Monaco, Douglas, Chee, Gabby Coppola, Mackenzie Meola, Kiera Mooney, Corinne Negrelli, Saige Randall, Liv DelGaudio, Sofia Gentile, Maddy Reilly, Sophia Miralles, Izzy Walling, Bridget O’Sullivan and Sydney Soliz were the seniors honored before the game.

Lakeland beat Carmel 33–0, led by Kacey Chin (46 total yards, 1 receiving touchdown), Caroline Leonard (25 total yards, 1 receiving TD), Mia Rodriguez (1 interception), Ava Stabile (4 tackles, 1 interception), Calisi (1 interception, 107 total yards, 2 receiving touchdowns) and Aditi Parambath (139 passing yards, 5 passing touchdowns, 39 rushing yards).
“The team was efficient on offense because everyone was on the same page going into the game and that was to win,” Parambath said. We also became confident in our play as the game went on and trusted each other on both sides of the ball.”

Lakeland won its third game in a row, 33-0, against sister school Walter Panas, with Emily Hahn (1 receiving touchdown), Leonard (5 tackles, 5 pass deflections, 50 receiving yards, 1 touchdown), Jackie Moore (6 tackles, 2 interceptions, 1 for a TD), Stabile (5 tackles, 1 interception), Calisi (5 tackles, 2 sacks, 48 receiving yards, 1 touchdown), Marrico (105 rushing yards, 1 touchdown) and Parambath (126 passing yards, 3 passing touchdowns, 34 rushing yards) coming through for the Hornets.
