Norman “Scotty” Scott passed away on January 13, 2026 at the age of 68 at New York Presbyterian Columbia Hospital after a brief illness surrounded by his loved ones.
Scotty was born on November 13, 1957 in Jamaica. His family moved to England when he was very young and he grew up as a British gentleman. He moved to the United States and attended Iona College where he played for the men’s soccer team graduating in 1985. He started his career working in the finance industry in New York City. In later years, he specialized in mortgage warehouse lending.
He was a beloved husband, father, son, friend, and soon-to-be grandad. He was known for always putting a smile on people’s faces and making friends wherever he went. His great love for soccer (Manchester United) and sports in general connected him with many people throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife, Seton, two daughters, Mackenzie and Tara (Brandon), his parents, Stanhope and Jeanette, his aunt, Mearl Evans, and his siblings, Ken and Maura Petriccione, Eileen Heslin, Dennis and Trish Heslin, Keri and Patrick McDonough as well as many uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
His easy going and low key manner will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
