SHRUB OAK, N.Y. —On Wednesday, April 23, the John C. Hart Memorial Library, in partnership with the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services and the National Guard, held a disaster preparedness program.
The training course provided an introduction to responding to natural or man-made disasters. Participants were advised on how to properly prepare for emergencies, including creating a family emergency plan and stocking up on essential supplies. More than 50 residents attended and received preparedness kit backpacks.
